Full name: Lavender Viola Brown
Age: Twenty-three
Date of birth: January 22, 1980
Blood: Pureblood.
Political Alliance: Neutral, leaning more towards light.
Former House: Gryffindor
Affiliation: Loosely supports the NPP for now.
Occupation: Editor-in-chief of Witch Weekly

History: Lavender Viola Brown was born on January 22, 1980 to Jasper and Veronica Brown, two wizards who both stemmed from (almost) pure bloodlines. Jasper and Veronica had been forced into an arranged marriage, seeing as both of their families wanted to continue purity in their bloodlines, but the two found that it was easy to become fond of one another. Jasper was tall, dark, and handsome. A staple in every woman's dream. He was quiet, polite, and always eager to impress. His personality meshed well with Veronica's, who happened to be loud, silly, and eager for adventure. It didn't take long for the two to actually fall in love and once they were married, it wasn't long before their eldest son was born. Jasper had always wanted a small family. He was used to being an only child and the idea of more than one child scared him, but it was easy for Veronica to change her husband's mind and before long they had another child, a daughter Lucy. It seemed perfect to have a son and a daughter so they decided to leave the tally of their family at four. After a few years later and too many cocktails, Lavender was born. She wasn't planned but her parents were still thrilled to have another daughter. Her childhood was a relatively easy and care free one. Jasper and Veronica bent over backwards to keep their littlest girl happy, showering her with toys and giving her their undivided attention. Graham never minded, as he was always rather independent and more interested in his education, but Lucy hated the way Lavender was treated. From early on, Lucy was jealous and bitter towards her younger sister and the two always fought, leaving young Lavender in tears which would only make their parents believe that Lucy had done wrong. Even now the two girls do not get along and only speak to each other occasionally to keep their parents happy.

Once it was time for Lavender to leave for Hogwarts, she was more excited at the prospect of meeting new friends than furthering her education. She was unsure which house she would be sorted in as her family had never had a tradition as being sorted into a certain house. Her father had been in Ravenclaw, her mother in Hufflepuff, Graham in Ravenclaw, and Lucy in Slytherin. Her grandparents on her father's side had been in Gryffindor and her mother's parents were a Hufflepuff and a Gryffindor. Once the sorting hat had been placed upon her head, she was sure she was going to be sorted into Hufflepuff like her mother, but the sorting hat had other plans for her and put her in Gryffindor. Lavender was just as pleased seeing as Gryffindor had such an outstanding reputation. It even furthered the rivalry between her and sister, who had been a member of Slytherin. Almost immediately Lavender forged a strong friendship between Parvati Patil, a girl with similiar likes and dislikes. Parvati had always been the sister that Lavender wished she had. They were inseperable through their seven years at Hogwarts and are still very close to this day. Also during her time at Hogwarts, Lavender had a brief fling with Seamus Finnigan, whom she found to be extremely charming with his Irish accent and she even attended the Yule Ball with him during their fourth year. Lavender had always naturally been a flirt and it was no shock that she craved attention from the opposite sex.

During her sixth year of school, Lavender found herself attracted to Ron Weasley and it wasn't too long before the two began dating. As Lavender was more experienced than Ron, she didn't quite enjoy their sloppy make-out sessions but she still enjoyed having someone to call her "boyfriend". It was obvious that Lavender took their relationship more seriously than Ron and she was devastated when he dumped her for Hermione Granger, who she still dislikes to this day. She and Parvati were so wrapped up in boys that sometimes their marks would suffer slightly because of it. Lavender's always been a bit of a dreamer, which is why she has a love for divination. Ever since taking the class during her third year, Lavender's been superstituous, going as far as to read her horoscope daily and occasionally owl back and forth with her old professor, Sybill Trelawney, whom she has a great deal of respect for.

During the harsher times, Lavender found her true passion, writing. She never wrote anything outrageously intelligent, as those subjects bored her, but she wrote about anything and everything from love stories, fashion, and gossip. She usually sent what she had written to Parvati as a joke, but once her best friend encouraged her to take it more seriously, Lavender decided that was what she was going to do with her life. She soon found a job at Witch Weekly, working under the editor-in-chief Matilda Femmerly.

As much as she was learning while working under Matilda, she never got along well with her editor. Matilda was demanding, mean, and an all around pain in the ass. During a late night at the office in which only Matilda and Lavender remained, the two got into a heated argument over whether or not green was the new pink. Lavender didn't take this well and she knew she could no longer stand working under such a wench, but refused to give up her career in the magazine. She decided to make matters into her own hands and showed up unannounced at Matilda's cottage. Lavender used the obliviate charm on an unsuspecting Matilda and modified her memory, making the former editor believe that she was placing Lavender in charge of the magazine and was moving far, far away to Madagascar. Lavender still feels incredibly guilty as this action weights heavily on her conscious, but more than anything she's frightened herself for even doing such a thing. Never in a million years did she think she had that sort of behavior in her and ever since, she's been extremely paranoid that someone will find out what truly happened to her former editor.

Personality: Lavender is very bright, bubbly, and giggly. She is extremely girly and loves to gossip. When she hears a rumor, she'll take it as being the truth. Lavender absolutely adores being the center of attention whether it's coming from her parents or a male companion. She is loud and outgoing, often making people believe that she isn't as intelligent as she truly is. Once Lavender has a reason to dislike someone, she carries on a grudge for as long as possible, sometimes acting as if she is still your best friend. She is a very capable and skilled witch but prefers to appear more fashionally gifted than anything else.

Family: Being the youngest in the family, Lavender has always been looked upon as the baby and has reaped in all the benefits of being the youngest child. Her parents, Jasper and Veronica, continue to dote on her as much as they did when she was a child. Though it sometimes aggravates her, Lavender wouldn't have it any other way. She enjoys being the center of attention when it comes to her parents and she is still extremely close with them. Lavender and Graham have always been close and her brother has always been very protective of her. He treats her very much like her parents do yet he treats her as an adult and not a child. Graham is now married with a daughter of his own who Lavender enjoys showering with gifts. As for Lavender's relationship with her sister, it gets quite complicated. She and Lucy had never gotten along as children, as most siblings do, but their sibling rivalry continued onto adulthood. Lucy was always jealous at the way Lavender was treated by her parents and she developed a bitterness towards her sister at an early age. They rarely speak and when they do, it is never pleasant.
